GVA "SHOGUN" - Custom Clay Tempered - 1095 CS- Samurai Katana
This gorgeous katana is handforged of beautiful 1095 High Carbon steel and is Clay Tempered to form a stunningly individual Hammon on a
highly polished quality blade. (Forged by our Master Bladesmith and completely exclusive to Guardians Vault Australia)
Let me just start out by saying one thing : This blade is extremely difficult to photograph !!
After 3 months of design / preparation and forging - this blade has been completed.
Suitable for the hands of a professional only, in martial arts demonstrations and for the walls / sword cabinets /racks of collectors.
Outstanding attention to detail , authentic ray-skin on the Tsuka (Black) with black cotton Ito wrap.
The Saya is hardwood with incredible triple lacquer finish showing a modified Urakami / Tokugawa / Honda clan Mon. (symbol).
The Tsuba is thinner than average measuring a mere 2.5 - 3mm and is stunninly presented with an extruded pattern giving this blade a very traditional look.
The blade is sharpened to fine/sharp and is highly polished using multiple grade stones and ready to turn heads with its incredible clay tempered edge!!
There is also no Bo-hi on this blade (lightening groove) which makes it a very very nice weight for those that like their katana with a great centre of gravity and a fuller feeling blade.
Full custom , hand made 1095 high carbon steel blade (58HRC) with the most beautiful Hammon clay tempering pattern work by our master smith that i have ever seen to date.
Katatemaki two handed battle wrap on the Tsuka (handle) which is slightly longer and brass bamboo themed fittings for the Fuchi & Kashira.

This blade also comes with a hand inked A4 page by our legendary Japanese Kanji Artist - Kana Shindome featuring
the characters for "SHOGUN" and gorgeous silk katana cover.
The weight is just 1.2kgs.

Shogun katana
I first wanted to say this katana I’ve had my eyes on for quite some time. Now that I finally have it in my hands I can say with certainty that it is truly a high quality katana. The blade is beautiful the way it shines and is razor sharp. It real is beautiful blade. Now I will say this, the furniture on the blade doesn’t 100% match everything in the photo and it does upset me a little bit being that this has been a dream of mine for a while. Now I’m assuming they couldn’t get all the necessary materials to make 100% as shown in the photo due to COVID. But that aside I highly recommend Guardians Vault Australia / Iron mountain armory I have been more than satisfied with the craftsmanship of every product I’ve received. I plan to purchase another katana in the near future.

Indeed , as shown in the photos sent via email unfortunately just the fuchi & kashira were no longer available.
But as you mentioned it was 95% as close as possible which is something we always try to achieve, i am very happy you love your new blade :)
