This gorgeous katana is handforged of beautiful 1060 Carbon steel and features a highly polished no hammon blade.
Suitable for the hands of a professional only, in martial arts demonstrations and for the walls / sword cabinets /racks of collectors.
Outstanding attention to detail , authentic ray-skin on the Tsuka (White) wrapped with White cotton sageo.
The Saya is triple white laquered with a shiro cotton sageo to match the tsuka ito.
The Shiro Oni handguard (Tsuba) is made from brass and features a fiercely unique Oni (demon/devil) of Japanese folklore, a mystical being with the ability to guide a soul to the spirit world or devour it entirely - gargoyle, protector , ghost or demon - all are capable by the Oni. An invincible creature, forever embossed into the spirit of this katana.
A strong yet beautiful piece combining the elegance of the white lacquered saya & white ito wrapping with that of the fierce brass Oni tsuba /fuchi/kashira brings about a certain purity within this katana that absolutely makes other pale in comparison. A gorgeous finely made centrepiece and a true contrast to the standard black katana.
The blade itself is a sight to behold - with no hammon and a mirror style polish just adding to its already stunning appearance.
This blade has been forge sharpened to a fine/sharp edge and must be treated with respect as should all katana .
